Key Points:

  • The US sold its 100-year helium reserve in June 2024 — a stockpile in place since Coolidge.

  • Iranian missiles hit Qatar's biggest helium plant in February. Hospital deliveries got cut 50%. Prices doubled.

  • Even if the Strait of Hormuz reopens tomorrow, global supply takes 4 to 6 months to recover.

  • Special Report: The SpaceX Story Everyone Missed (from Brownstone Research)

In March, hospitals lost half their helium. Half. That's not a paperwork problem. MRI machines go dark when this happens. And I can't stop thinking about why.

This story sits on top of your retirement, your phone, and your next doctor visit, all at once. Helium runs through all of it. The price has doubled since February.

Here's what worries me. In 1925, Calvin Coolidge set up the Federal Helium Reserve. A giant stockpile of gas, locked under the Texas dirt. The government held it for a hundred years. Through World War II. Through the Cold War. Through every gas shortage we ever had. Five presidents wanted to sell it. None of them did. Until ours did.

June 2024. We sold it. All of it. To a private gas company called Messer.

Spotted: Elon Crates At A U.S. Air Force Base

Every week, these strange white crates leave a high-security Tesla compound in Lathrop, California.

They're showing up near the Hoover Dam. At an Air Force base in Georgia. In the heart of New York City…

An estimated 4,000 of them are now spread across 48 locations in 14 states. And more roll out every week.

But you won't see this on CNBC, and you won't read about it in the Wall Street Journal.

Because these mystery Elon crates have nothing to do with electric vehicles, space, social media, crypto, biotech, robots or AI…

But former hedge fund manager Adam O'Dell knows what's inside them…

(And he reveals it all in this urgent investment briefing)

Which is why he believes they will go down as Elon's greatest-ever invention… his biggest ever disruption.

On July 22, Elon is expected to share this new venture with the world.

Once he does, this is going to be everywhere — from Fox Business to your family's group chat.

Adam believes investors who get positioned before that date could walk away wealthier than they ever thought possible. Everyone else will be reading about it after the stocks have already run.

I'd hate for you to be in the second group.

Click here to watch Adam's full briefing right now.

He'll show you exactly what Elon is building, what's inside these strange white crates… and he'll give you the name and ticker of one of his top picks to play it — completely free.

Watch it now while you still have time to position yourself.

I get it. The government selling old reserves sounds boring. Most people didn't blink. I barely blinked. And now I can't stop thinking about it.

February 28. We went to war with Iran. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian missiles hit a plant in Qatar called Ras Laffan. It's the biggest natural gas plant on earth. It's also the biggest helium plant on earth. Qatar makes about a third of the world's helium on a normal day. Production stopped that day.

Qatar can still make a little helium. None of it can leave. The strait is closed.

That's how we got the 50% hospital cut. That's how prices doubled. An Iranian drone shot down one of our Apache helicopters last night, near the strait. We hit back at Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas. The two-month ceasefire is falling apart in real time.

Even if the strait opens tomorrow, supply takes four to six months to come back. That's what the chip industry group says. Four to six months. That's a long time to wait when your doctor needs to look inside you.

The REAL Reason Trump Is Invading Iran

For a moment…

Forget about Trump’s ties to Israel.

Forget about reports of Iran’s nuclear program.

Because my research has led me to believe we’re risking World War 3 with Iran for a completely different reason.

If you have even a single dollar invested in the U.S. stock market, this is going to directly impact you.

MRI machines find brain tumors. Strokes. Torn ligaments. Cancer that hides where X-rays can't see. The machine goes dark. Those things still happen. Doctors just can't find them in time.

Hospitals are rationing now. They're stretching helium between machines. They're scheduling fewer scans per day. The patients at the back of the line don't get told the real reason. They just wait.

One MRI machine needs about 2,000 liters of liquid helium to run. Cooled to minus 452 degrees. That's the killer number. 2,000 liters per machine, per hospital, every year, no exceptions. Helium boils off into the air. It drifts up through the sky and out into space. Gone for good. We can't make more. It's not like oil. It's not like wheat. When it's gone, it's gone.

Hospitals use about 30% of the world's helium. The rest goes into Nvidia's chips. Rockets. Welding. The AI buildout runs on it too. Every chip that trains a model. Every rocket that lifts. Every weld on every car frame. Chips get harder to make. Prices go up on everything with a chip in it. Which is everything.

Every new chip plant needs helium. AI data centers need it. Tech companies will fight hospitals for the same gas. We used to hold all the cards. Not anymore.

Messer sells globally. They sell to the highest bidder. The highest bidder is rarely a small-town hospital. The highest bidder is a chip plant in Taiwan, or a rocket company in California.

I don't think most people realize how thin our margin is here. We had a hundred-year backup plan. A reserve set up before our grandparents were born. And we sold it for parts two years ago. Right before a war that took out our biggest outside source.

Coolidge knew. Roosevelt knew. Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reagan — all of them knew. You keep something this rare. You don't sell it. We sold it. We were wrong. The check cleared. The cavern emptied. The world kept turning. For a while.

Nobody knows when the strait reopens. Nobody knows when the next missile flies. Nobody at Messer is going to ride in and save your hospital. They sell to whoever pays the most. That's their job. That's the deal we signed.

We made a bet. The bet was that the world stays calm. That nobody hits Qatar. That the strait stays open. That we'd never need the reserve again. We lost the bet eighteen months later.

I keep picturing that cavern under the Texas dirt. A hundred years of foresight. Held by Coolidge. Held by Roosevelt. Held by Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reagan. Held through wars and panics and shortages. Sold off right before we needed it. The cavern is still there. It's just empty now.

Somewhere tonight, a kid sits on a waiting list. His scan won't happen this month. His parents don't know it has anything to do with a cavern in Texas. But it does.

More on this tomorrow.
